St. Michael’s students are covered by the UTSU dental plan through GreenShield. We accept it and bill GreenShield directly. Our office is on Pape Avenue, six stops east of Bay Station on Line 2.
All full-time undergraduates at the St. George campus are enrolled in the UTSU Health & Dental Plan, unless they opt out. GreenShield insures the dental side. At Pape Dental Centre, we accept your U of T student dental plan and bill it directly. Just bring your plan ID to your appointment.
The plan’s main focus is on routine care, but it provides partial coverage for some bigger treatments. Included categories are:
Your student plan pays a percentage of each treatment up to an annual maximum. Here is how the three U of T plans compare.
Percentages show the portion your plan pays for each treatment. UTSU covers 80% of simple extractions and 60% of fillings, root canals, and surgical extractions. UTGSU and APUS pay a flat 70% across all listed treatments.
Your coverage resets every September 1 and ends August 31. If you don’t use it, it’s gone. The exact amounts are in your plan booklet on studentcare.ca. To be sure if you opted in, log in to ACORN and check your fees invoice for “UTSU Health Plan” and “UTSU Dental Plan. Then go to studentcare.ca to see your coverage and get your card.
Note: New students can't register a GreenShield account until October 31, but September and October appointments are still claimable after that date.
The appointments students book most often include:
A wisdom tooth shouldn’t necessarily be removed. An X-ray tells us if yours have enough room or if they need removal.
A small cavity is treated in a single visit. We use tooth-coloured filling material matched to the tooth beside it.
In case of a dental emergency like pain or swelling, call us. We'll try to fit you in on the same day. It would be better to call in the morning.
When decay or an injury reaches the nerve, root canal therapy treats the inside of the tooth and saves it. Most cases take one or two appointments.
Your checkups and cleanings happen in one visit. We hold early morning and evening spots for people who have class all day.
You can get here on one subway line, with no transfer. Bay Station is the closest stop to St. Mike’s, about six minutes on foot from Elmsley Place. Take Line 2 eastbound and get off six stops later at Pape. From St. George Station, it’s seven stops. We’re a couple of minutes north of Danforth Avenue when you’re out of the station.

I had a wisdom tooth extraction, and I can’t thank my dentist ( Dr. Sasan ) enough for how smoothly everything went. The tooth was in bad shape and difficult to remove, but Dr. Sasan was incredibly skilled, calm, and patient throughout the entire procedure. He made sure I was comfortable at every step and constantly checked to ensure I wasn’t feeling any pain. His gentle and reassuring approach made a stressful situation so much easier. I really appreciated how professional yet kind he was the whole time. If you’re nervous about dental procedure, I highly recommend this clinic and Dr.Sasan . You’ll be in very capable and caring hands! I also had a great experience with my dental hygienists ( Rose and also Hengameh) . They were both kind, calm, and very gentle, which made the whole appointments comfortable and stress-free. They were also highly professional and attentive. I truly appreciated their care.![]()

I had an outstanding experience at this dental clinic. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Everyone is friendly, organized, and attentive, which immediately puts you at ease. I want to give special recognition to Mary Ann the dental hygienist—truly exceptional at what she does. She was gentle, thorough, and explained everything in a way that made me feel informed and comfortable. You can tell she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about her patients’ well‑being. The dentists are equally impressive, especially Dr. Neruopama Pore, she is knowledgeable, patient, and highly skilled. She takes the time to walk you through your treatment options and ensure you understand every step. Their professionalism and compassion make every visit smooth and stress‑free. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clinic that combines expertise with genuine care.![]()

Your GreenShield plan ID and photo ID. A screenshot of your card from the GreenShield app is enough.
Your dentist explains what’s recommended and what it costs. We submit the claim to GreenShield. If there’s a balance left over, you pay that at our front desk.
